The Partnership strives to make Houston one of the best places to live, work and build a business.

The Partnership is a gathering place for community-minded business leaders who want to be involved in Houston's positive growth and influence our economic trajectory. Through the dedicated efforts of our members, the Partnership addresses Houston's unique challenges, and champions the growth and success of our region.

The Greater Houston Partnership strives to make the region the best place to live, work and build a business. We serve 900 member companies in the 12-county Houston region.

With roots dating back to 1840, the Partnership as it exists today was formed in 1989 in a merger of the Greater Houston Chamber of Commerce, the Houston Economic Development Council and the Houston World Trade Association.

In its 2023 Annual Report, the Partnership provided an update on its Houston Next strategic plan, including work in economic development, public policy, racial equity and much more. The report also includes the organization's financial statements.

At the Greater Houston Partnership, high-caliber business leaders bring their priorities, and together with the Public Policy Division, elected officials and community organizations, we shape solutions to the region's most pressing issues. As advocates for strong public policy at all levels of government, the Partnership works with our members to make Houston even greater.

Houston Next

The Partnership has launched a new strategic plan and accompanying capital campaign that will guide the organization’s overall efforts through the next decade. The initiative, dubbed Houston Next, is designed to advance Houston’s position as a great global city. 

The Houston regional economy is one of the most dynamic and diverse in the nation.

The Partnership works to tell the story of Houston to businesses around the country and abroad interested in expanding or relocating here.

The Partnership has long-promoted Houston’s growth through economic development efforts aimed at attracting leading global companies to Houston, creating jobs and growing the region’s GDP. 

Some of the services provided by the Partnership's economic development team include assisting in site selection analysis, assisting with incentive evaluation and application, aiding in the permitting process, providing key data on business facilities and connecting with industry leaders and regional economic development organizations.

The Partnership covers the 12-county region including: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller and Wharton counties.
